Music Lesson Fees

My music lesson fees are $40 for 30 minutes and $75 for 1 hour of private instruction. The reality is this is a great deal - particularly since the instruction is in your home and considering the high cost of gas these days.

All services are pre-paid. If you prepay 10 hours in advance, I will discount the hourly rate to $60 per hour.

Since I am driving to your home and I have blocked my calendar for you - as a general policy - there are no refunds or make-up lesson if you miss or cancel a music lesson without notice. I need to have this policy as historically students miss 5-10% of all lessons. Unless I raise my music lesson fees - I cannot absorb both revenue loss along with constant rescheduling.

However, I am reasonable and reserve the right to grant exceptions to this policy. These exceptions include student illness, death in the family, snow (it is the North East), or other unplanned circumstances. NOTE: My dog ate my music is not an exception.

Nonetheless, an exception will ONLY be granted if I am notified ahead of time - preferrably days ahead and not 15 minutes before the lesson. I really do not want to drive to your home only to find you are not home - I hope this makes sense.

If for some reason I need to cancel a lesson (yes it has happened), I will of course provide a make-up date at a mutually convenient date and time.

In all instances students should be prepared for the music lesson. Instruments should be out and ready - along with the student.
